The True Role of a Sword
A Prose Poetry by Tatsumakenji
A sword is a weapon wielded by the worthy, serving as an extension of the body. It can take any shape and form according to the owner’s will, assuring utmost loyalty for as long as it lives.
Unbeknownst to most, everyone wields swords that were
forged long ago; a pen is a sword with writing as its blade and words are
swords with thoughts as its hilt.
The sword and its wielder are one; when the body of the one who wields the weapon meets their end, so too shall the sword break and be spent. As long as the owner of the sword continues to polish it, the longer shall the blade stay sharp and never go dull.
